FHMCAT (Fetal Heart Monitoring Case Assessment & Testing)

FHMCAT is an on-line, fetal monitoring simulation program consisting of 3 case reviews, which not only test but teach the participant. This program is intended to reinforce knowledge and familiarity with physiology, tracing interpretation, and labor management using the NICHD terminology. You'll also find it a valuable tool for the purposes of orientation and annual competency validation.

The case reviews mimic what happens at bedside with interactive tracings that progress over time to simulate real-world care. The principles of maternal-fetal physiology are applied in the analysis of fetal heart monitoring case studies while promoting standardized EFM communications using the NICHD terminology. Learning is reinforced with immediate feedback and rationales, as well as numerical scoring compared to expert reviewers.

Online reporting capabilities allow documentation of staff compliance with educational goals.

CNE: Each participant will receive 3.0 CNE contact hours.

Intended Audience: The program is designed for clinicians with knowledge and expertise in fetal monitoring who have previously completed intermediate level education and who use fetal monitoring in intrapartum practice.
